Working in partnership with The Leadership Company – based in the United Kingdom over the last 10 years, this programme is uniquely designed to build leadership skills amongst corporate staff members who are earmarked to fill management positions in the future.
The programme is developed to integrate and supplement longer term leadership training and offers the opportunity to take all participants out of their comfort zone in a practical and significant way and level the playing field which is often not achieved in conventional training settings.
Participants are challenged to deliver a community project, where there is no room for failure or delay and where a completely unfamiliar, fast-moving, high pressure environment offers the opportunity to develop their leadership resilience and adaptability. The “challenge” provides both the corporate partner and participants a unique way of accessing leadership ability and provide feedback in a way other training cannot.
The interaction, team work and ongoing friendships that develop between corporate participants and local community volunteers also builds pride and leadership amongst a new generation of South Africa’s poorest communities, giving community members renewed hope to continue taking initiative and sustaining projects.
The Epic Leadership Challenge participants leave with a greater understanding of the depth to their personal leadership capability and sense of self. What greater legacy can be achieved from a leadership programme than using the skills and experiences gained to help those less fortunate than themselves?
Working side by side with The Leadership Company group over the past 10 years, we have created unique leadership development experiences, which progressively take executive participants on a journey through carefully designed steps.
Now for the first time they are creating an exciting new concept called the Vision2020 EPIC Programme. The programme’s Unique Selling Point is that it creates combined opportunity to implement both leadership development and CSI outreach initiatives.
The programme aims to develop the very best leaders in industry in a competitive environment, whilst leaving a lasting legacy for the most vulnerable communities in South Africa.
Through this initiative we have helped raise funds for the following infrastructure projects in rural disadvantaged communities:
• Mzondeni Orphan Care Centre
• Zamokuhle Pre-School
• Khulani Special School
• Isifisosethu Crèche and Orphanage
