Illovo Sugar Africa (Pty) Ltd (Illovo), Africa’s largest sugar producer who manufacture high-value sugar products from cane supplied by its own agricultural operations, have committed to sending 17 of their employees from 8 different countries to summit Mount Kilimanjaro, The Highest Peak in Africa.
On the 9th of May 2024, we had a launch event in Umhlanga ,Kwazulu-Natal at the Radisson Blu Hotel, to not only celebrate the new partnership but also the daunting journey the 17 individuals will be going on.
We show much appreciation to the Illovo Sugar CEO, Gavin Dalgleish, and team for their commitment to supporting their staff members in their preparation for the Trek4Mandela 2024 Expedition, all of which aims to pioneer the awareness and alleviation of period poverty and keeping girl children in school through the provision of sanitary pads and menstrual hygiene education.
